ValleyCare Medical Center

ValleyCare Medical Center is a small community hospital* system with two campuses (Pleasanton and Livermore) and several outreach clinics.  It was founded as a not-for-profit system and opened its doors in September 1961.  At that time it had 46 beds and a medical staff of 23.  It now boasts186 beds and a medical staff of over 250.  It provides basic medical services and specializes in spine care.  It takes most local heath plans and has affiliated specialists in most basic fields.

* ValleyCare is not a referral center. For complex medical conditions which require the facilities of a full service hospital, such as trauma, brain surgery, cardiac surgery, complex cancers, many pediatric problems, many heart conditions, severe strokes, or complex obstetrics, ValleyCare refers patients to larger local hospitals.
